Career Details
Jaromír Jágr is the most productive European player in the history of the NHL. Overall, Jágr is on the 3rd place in career points with 1 868 points (August 10, 2016), only 21 points behind 2nd Mark Messier.
Jágr was 5th pick in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He was taken by the Pittsburgh Penguins and in his first two seasons, Jágr won Stanley Cup (1991 and 1992). Since his first games, Jágr was a nightmare for opponents because of his puck control.
In the season 1995–96, Járg set his personal season best by 149 points in one season (62 goals and 87 assists) and he won his second Art Ross Trophy (for the scoring leader of the regular season). Jágr won this trophy 5 times in his career.
Jaromír Jágr scored 133 game winning goal. This is all time NHL record. Jágr passed previous record holder Gordie Howe on December 18, 2013.
Jaromír Jágr is member of the Triple Golden Club (this is a “club” of players who were able to win Stanley Cup, Olympic Tournament and World Championship). Jágr was member of the legendary Czech team which won The Tournament of the Century in Nagano Olympics (1998).
He stayed three seasons (2008–2011) in the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) where he played for Avangard Omsk. Previously, Jágr played in Omsk during the 2004–2005 NHL lockout.
Since 2011, Jaromír Jágr is majority owner of his parent team Rytíři Kladno (team of the Czech ice hockey league). During the 2012–13 NHL lockout, Jágr played 34 matches in his team, scored 24 goals and added 33 assists.
